Tackle Football Programming for 2025!
We are excited and proud to welcome the 88th Street Browns to work with Shaker Youth Football! Our missions and values aligned, and together, we can offer far more opportunities for our youth football players to grow and learn!
In the fall of 2025 we will be able to offer tackle football at every age.
- 6u - Cleveland Muny Football League (As the Shaker Raw Talent 88th Street Browns)
- 7u - North Coast Football Conference (As Shaker Youth Football Raiders)
- 8u - Cleveland Muny Football League (As the Shaker Raw Talent 88th Street Browns)
- 9u - North Coast Football Conference (As Shaker Youth Football Raiders)
- 10u - Cleveland Muny Football League (As the Shaker Raw Talent 88th Street Browns)
- 11u - North Coast Football Conference (As Shaker Youth Football Raiders)
- 12u - Cleveland Muny Football League (As the Shaker Raw Talent 88th Street Browns)
- All Shaker Heights Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Players are encouraged to play Middle School Football for Shaker Heights Middle School. Following the Middle School Football Season, all middle school players are welcome to play for the Shaker Raw Talent Browns in two travel tournaments.
- 14u - Cleveland Muny Football League (As the Shaker Raw Talent 88th Street Browns)
The Shaker Raw Talent Browns, the even years, will wear Browns uniforms and helmets provided by the 88th Street Browns, and they will play in the Cleveland Muny Football League. Muny games are on Saturdays.
The Shaker Youth Football Raiders will wear the Red, White and Black uniforms and helmets that replicate our Shaker Heights High School and Middle School programs, and they will play in the North Coast Football Conference. North Coast games are typically on Sundays. Home games for the North Coast Football Conference will be at Shaker Heights High School.
Both Leagues are extremely competitive, and both leagues hold playoffs, states, regionals, and nationals.
Tackle Football Information
All practices will be held in Shaker Heights. The cost to participate is $100. Practices start in June. In the summer, there will be 4 practices weekly. Once school starts, there will be three practices, one film session, and one game per week. The regular season ends at the end of September and the playoffs can go into November. If we win States and Regionals, Nationals are in December.
Each team will have at least two paid coaches. Coaches are all subject to background checks and will minimally be USA Tackle Level 1 Certified.
At each level age group, we do not like to have have more than 25 players. Whenever we have more than 25 players, we must choose whether to add coaches and create another team level and divide the players by capability, or sadly, we have to make cuts.
All players and parents must agree to team norms in order to participate.
