Tackle Football Programming for 2026!
In 2026, Shaker Youth Football will participate in the storied CLEVELAND MUNY FOOTBALL LEAGUE!
2026 Shaker Youth Tackle Football Timeline:
Week of June 15th: Speed, agility, strength, and conditioning. (Typically, we workout 3 weekday evenings and one weekend morning.)
Week of June 22nd: Helmets get distributed. No hitting. only speed, agility, strength, and conditioning.
Week of June 29th: Pads get distributed and workouts begin in pads. No hitting, only speed, agility, strength, and conditioning.
Week of July 7th: Live football drills begin.
August 2nd: Rosters are due to Cleveland Muny Football League
August 22nd: Season Starts!
This season, in Cleveland Muny, all games are neutral site games. There is a chance that we get one home game, but plan on all games being on neutral sites within 30 minutes of Shaker Heights. Further, all games will be on SATURDAYS.
For the fall of 2026 we will be attempting to field a youth tackle football team for 6u, 7u, 8u, 8u, 10u, 11u & 12u (Age as of August 1, 2026):
- 6u-7u - Rookie Tackle
- 8u, 9u, 10u & 11u - 11v11
- 12u - Only Tournament Team (Will ONLY participate in the end of the year travel tournament.)
We intend on having a team for each age; however, we need at least 15 committed players to field a team. On August 1st, we will make a determination if we may have to combine any two age groups. For example, if we have 7 players signed up for 9u, and 12 signed up for 10u, then we would combine those two ages to make a 10u team. At the same time, if we end up with more than 30 players in any one age group, we will split the teams.
Post season, each team will play in one travel tournament. We will choose between the All Ohio Championship Tournament in Sandusky, Ohio, the 5th D1 Midwest Megabowl in Akron, OH, and The Battle for Rocky Top in Gatlinburg, TN. (Shaker league fees only cover coach costs for the tournament and team tournament fees. Every family is responsible for their own transportation, housing, and food costs for the travel tournament.)
The cost to participate in 2026 is $300. Early Bird Special!!! Only $250 if you Register before July 1! (August 1st or later becomes LATE registration at $350.)
All Shaker Residents receive a $50 discount off of the fees at checkout. The player must live in Shaker Heights.
